Animal Papercuts — Kristine Virsis
Kristine’s works begin as intricate paper cutouts accompanied by hand painting, and are then printed as editions true to size. Using largely nature based imagery, her work explores nostalgia, death and grief, as well as mental health and addiction.
Kristine lovingly scans and provides high resolution (extremely sharp/detailed) files of her paper cutouts. We then take these and make high resolution inkjet films and expose these to photopolymer relief plates, which create raised image matrices to ink up and print from.
