Untitled Edition 1 — Patrick Berran
This work is inspired by the transformation of visual material through processes of painting, printing and transfer. Like his paintings, this artwork is instilled with a sense of controlled chaos: static held in the confines of careful construction, made material through the intermingling of layers.
This print was produced through a combination of digital films and airbrushed films made and combined directly by the artist.

Patrick Berran
Patrick Berran’s work plays upon the transformation of visual material through processes of painting, printing and transfer. His paintings on panel vibrate with a sense of controlled chaos: static held in the confines of careful construction. Pulled from loose, life sketches or photocopy-collage, Berran builds up the surface of his densely concentrated compositions through a series of layered ‘screens’ or visual masks. The result yields the potential of process to re-inscribe visual data as both dynamic and unwieldy, records of infinite flux.
